The Glass Slipper.

Choosing your wedding shoes is not as easy as everyone thinks, there is such a wide variety of shapes, sizes, styles and colours. Therefore finding the perfect pair that will work perfectly with not just your dress but the theme of your wedding can be very difficult!

So let's narrow it down for you...

First of all we need make sure that you are wearing shoes that are comfortable, now i know us women like to say "we have to go through pain to look good" well honestly on a night like this are you really prepared to be uncomfortable from morning till the last thing at night? This is your big day, don't let anything get in the way or stopping you from getting up and enjoying yourself.
However i do not advise to go for cheap shoes which will have a lack of padding and not giving you that extra support which is needed but to go for shoes specially made for weddings which are designed with comfort in mind and have that additional padding exactly for this purpose.

Consider the fabric silk and satin are traditionally the two most popular choices for wedding shoes, but naturally your wedding dress and personal taste are going have the greatest impact on the shoes you choose.
It is really important that you have your shoes for your dress fittings, this means that your dressmaker can tailor your dress to the perfect length.  Therefore i always suggest that you order your shoes with plenty of time, particularly if you have them customised, this will take a lot of pressure off you!

Not only show your shoes to be a great match of your dress, setting, location and style of your wedding but it is also very important that they reflect your personality. For example if your a funky bride you might like your shoes a nice bright colour such as yellow or blue, or you may like to 'bling' up the shoe a bit with diamonds or jewelled shoe clip. However you could just be a more traditional bride which want a plain white colour shoe to match their dress!

Winter Wonderland.

Temperatures are dropping, snow is falling and for you, wedding bells are ringing! Welcome to the perfect winter wonderland weddings...
Weddings shouldn't just be in the spring or summer days, we see more couples going for the off-season and why not?! The romantic theme of a snowy landscape, and as the sun goes down quicker the candles create the romance for you and soon to be hubby once you take the dance floor for your first dance.

There are plenty of ways to make your reception an inviting space, not just the candles creating that romantic glow from from the start of your party. To add to the surroundings, consider bringing in lush, soft textures.  Use fairy lights to create a magical scene, also why not even have a firework display after the speeches or as you walk in the reception with you newly husband.

It will be cold so accessories will be important to keep warm, a faux fur stole, a veil, a cape or a chic cardi! Under the dress you can always wear thick tights under your wedding dress (as long as its long) nobody will know! Add some glitter to that dress to, sequin or glitter dresses are always easy to find come to winter (plus they look stunning in photos)

Let me know your thoughts on a Winter Wonderland Wedding!

What Type Of Bride Are You?

There is a term us ladies love to use for brides now days .... BRIDEZILLA!!

SandyLou has met a fair share of these beautiful brides, well now why don't you tell us which bride are you!!?

Do you like to have little fun now and then?
Or are you more of a posh spice?
Do you like to keep it beautiful and elegant?
Or just plain and simple?
Do you like to feel like vogue glamorous model?
Or even meticulous and care free?

Often your personality influences you'r choice of gown, venue, and bridesmaids dresses. For example if you are the fun and daring bride who loves to stand out from the others, short stylish dress is the perfect match for your reception. However the shy and conservative bride might not even change dresses or if they do, most of their body will be concealed. For the 'shine bright like a diamond' brides who wants to look fabulous and glamorous, the case will be different as everything around their wedding then becomes glitz and glamour.

It is your wedding, enjoy being the bride!

Now which bride are you?

How to pick a wedding dress

Image result for trying to pick a wedding dress

The worst yet the most exciting thing about your wedding is picking out the perfect dress, maybe it just me but i believe what you wear on your big day is what identifies you as a person.
So what is your personal style?
1. Simple
2. Fancy
3. Elegant
4. Sophisticated
5. Adventurous

All these different types are the factors which will affect the dress you will choose to wear for your wedding, it not just the type you need to think about it is also your size. What is your size? Body structure and form? All these are determining factors regarding the best dress to extenuate your lovely shape and features.

So how do we go about it? What you see a model wearing it may look stunning on her however that does not mean it will be a perfect fit for your figure. Now that we addressed the elephant in the room let's move on...

They say finding the proper fit for your frame will guarantee your wedding gown makes you feel both comfortable and confident. Sound to good to be true?

Well this is when you ask SandyLou what worked for her?

What's your wedding style? Let's take a look at the neckline choice:

1. Sweetheart
2. Bateau
3. V-neck

Sleeves choices:

1. Strapless
2. Short
3. Long sleeve

Silhouette choices:

1. Ball gown
2. A-line
3. Mermaid
4. Empire
5. Sheath
6. Trumpet
7. Tea-length
6. Mini

Bodice and fabric choices:

With bodice and fabric choices all these are matters to consider when picking your dress, what dress fits for your body form? For example if you are petite column/sheath, A-Line/princess, empire waist will do well for you. Full figure A-Line/princess and empire waist is good for your figure just to mention a few.

To conclude before making your final purchase, go into bridal dress shops and try on different dresses with all this in mind. I know you have your comfort zone but try and be adventurous it all pays off in the end.
